Officer of Elections
|
| Election officers are essential to ensuring smooth and proper operations at the polls
on election day. On election day, Officers of Elections and
poll workers are the people who ensure the conduct of fair and accurate
elections. They prepare the precinct by setting up voting equipment,
greeting voters, verify registrations and providing voters with
appropriate ballots. At the end of the day, the officers close
the precinct, count the votes and prepare election materials for delivery or actually
deliver the material to the Elections office. Many people find it a
rewarding experience and return year after year to serve. We encourage
you to become an Officer of Elections in Virginia. To be a part of our team of Officers, complete and submit the online form below. Appointments are made by your local county/city electoral board. You may be asked to serve in your county/city or a neighboring one. |
IMPORTANT NOTE: To be an Officer of
Elections in Virginia, you must be a registered voter in
Virginia. If you are uncertain of your voter registration status,
