Update your Voter Registration Information NOW!!

 

You may make a change of address, name or other information by sending a letter to your General Registrar, completing an address change notification provided by the DMV, using the form on the back of your voter card, or by using the Virginia Voter Registration Application Form.

 

Letters should be addressed to the Voter Registration office for the city or county in which you live (contact information is located on the Virginia Voter Registration Application Form). Letters should include the following information:

 

Ö       Name

Ö       Enough information to identify you - such as the social security number

Ö       Current address

Ö       Previous address

Ö       Signature

 

Address change notification forms are provided at your local DMV.

 

To update your voter registration information using the Virginia Voter Registration Application Form, please follow the instructions below:

 

·       Download the form using this link - Voter Registration Application.

·       A  daytime telephone number is useful should your General Registrar need to contact you regarding your request.

·       Send the completed form to the Voter Registration Office for the county or city where you live. The form may be faxed, mailed or delivered in person.

 

Requests must be POSTMARKED at least 29 days before the next Primary or General Election in which you plan to vote. For the November Presidential Election, requests must be postmarked before October 6, 2008.

 

You should receive a Voter Card in the mail. ** If you do not receive this acknowledgement within 30 days after mailing this form, please contact your city or county voter registration office or the State Board of Elections.
