~Voters Casting a ‘Presidential-Only’ Ballot May Not Vote In Local Elections At A Later Date~

RICHMOND, VA- Individuals who choose to vote using a ‘Presidential-Only’ absentee ballot forfeit their eligibility to vote in state and local elections. That is, by choosing the ‘Presidential-Only’ option, a voter knowingly gives up the ability to vote for offices other than President and Vice President. Once an absentee ballot is cast, the voter may not return on Election Day expecting to cast a vote in person for local elections.

Voters wishing to vote absentee must meet 1 of the 17 eligibility requirements. For all absentee categories except the ‘Presidential-Only’ option, voters will have the ability to complete a ballot identical to the ballot available on Election Day in their local precinct.
