	VOTER REGISTRATION DEADLINE FOR NOVEMBER ELECTION IS FAST APPROACHING  ~ Voter Registration Applications Can Also be Used to Update a Person’s Name and Address ~
	RICHMOND, VA – The deadline to register to vote or update one’s registration in Virginia for the November presidential election is this Monday, October 6. Virginia residents are encouraged to check their voter status and polling place on the State Board of Elections website (www.sbe.virginia.gov), by calling the State Board of Elections volunteer call center at 1-800-552-9745  or by calling their local registrar’s office.  Virginia residents who are already registered to vote, but only need to update their name or address may also use a Virginia Voter Registration Application.  Once completed with the new name and address information the application may be mailed or faxed to their local registrar’s office.   Voter registration applications must be postmarked no later than October 6, 2008.  If the application is dropped off in person, it must be in the voter registration office by close of business on Monday, October 6. Applications are available at local General Registrars’ Offices, the Department of Motor Vehicles and on the Virginia State Board of Election’s web site at www.sbe.virginia.gov. # # #
