Virginia State Board of Elections : UPDATING YOUR REPORT CODES

> Means to click 

Open the VA Filing Software where you have the map of Virginia.  Then open your database.

Internet Explorer > tools > Internet Options > Security > Go to Sites under trusted sights enterwww­.sbe.virginia.gov/cms > Apply and OK. 

Then open your software > open your database > Close the JUMP screen  > go to File > go to Live Report Code Update  

Say Yes or OK to download codes > then you should get the message “Report Codes downloaded successfully”  

Then go to your JUMP Screen > Committee Profile > Change your “Cycle Begin Date” to 01/01/2008.  Then go to your “Type of Committee” use the pull down arrow and choose “Political Committees in 2008” then go to “Filing Period” use the pull down arrow (menu) and choose “Jan 1 – March 31. 

Update and close.   

You may be directed to “Preset Values” if not go back to JUMP and choose “Preset Values”.  Use the pull down menu for “Previous Filing Period” and choose the Oct 1 – Dec 31.  Click OK and OK.  

Now you are ready for this year’s cycle.
